Slate Sculpture SSC1

Welsh Slate Sculpture SSC1 is a strikingly tall slender piece of natural stone, nearly 1.5m in height. The comforting phrase “It’s the little things in life…” has been hand carved into one face and delicately painted white to contrast against the deep natural tones of the slate.

The window stone element of the piece is a 150mm core drilled hole just above the engraved text. The purpose of a window stone is to frame a view, ideally this piece will be placed with the sun’s position at either sunrise or sunset in mind. Hand crafted from Welsh Slate and Portland Stone, our bespoke Window Stones are the ultimate unique garden ornament. Each piece of natural stone is individually selected in UK quarries, then hand crafted by Ioan Raymond in his Southampton Workshop. Entirely unique pieces of Welsh Slate and Portland Stone, each Window Stone is only available once and stock changes quickly.

The purpose of a Window Stone is to frame a view, and careful placement can also make the most of a sunrise or sunset in a much loved spot in the garden or outdoor space. The craftsmanship in window stone creation involves the careful placement and core drilling for the actual window hole itself, as well as 35mm diameter feed holes for water feature window stones. With the addition of our Reservoir Packs, water feature window stones can circulate a beautiful flow of water all over the piece without the need for a constant supply. Reservoir packs, including pump, clip and hose, are available in the basket when purchasing a water feature window stone.
