Slate Monolith SM257 Water Feature Case Study

Slate Monolith SM257 Water Feature Case Study features a stunning premium plum welsh slate monolith, complete with engraving. Sourced direct from the quarry in North Wales and sawn in the workshop. This job included a lot of consultation to choose the right monolith as it required engraving it really needed a flat face to make the engraving as prominent as possible. The client was Saundersfoot Community Council and the slate monolith was to commemorate the coronation of King Charles III. This was also translated and engraved in the welsh language.

Delivered direct to site and installed by a local landscaper working on the site. This is situated in the sensory garden in Saundersfoot just behind the car park. Can also be viewed when walking to and from the slipway to the beach, right on the corner of the strand. Welsh Slate Water Features is very proud to be invited to be involved in this project having spent many weekends down in the area when growing up as a child. If you’re planning a similar project please do not hesitate to contact us for any guidance or help.

If you are planning a visit to Saundersfoot then we recommend a walk along the beach when the tide is out but please do check times of when dogs are allowed on the beach. We thoroughly recommend a visit to MamGu’s Kitchen for breakfast and welsh cakes !

We have a number of large Slate Monoliths in stock which can all be cut, dressed and if applicable, engraved with house names, number or could be used as memorial stones. Not all of our stock has been added to the website as we can constantly visiting the quarry this time of year to restock on more stone. We also convert stones into bird baths by carving a bowl in the top to contain water. A recent example is Stone Bird Bath SBB13. Alternatively Stone Boulder SB52 could work as a focal point or natural garden seat. Contact us with your requirements.
