South Wales Quarry Visit | Welsh Slate Water Features

South Wales Quarry Visit

We hope you enjoy this short vlog showing how Ioan Raymond chooses every chunk of slate by hand for the Welsh Slate Water Features range of Garden Ornaments and Natural Stone Features for garden designs.

Visiting the quarries of Wales in slightly drizzly weather is often the best way to view the raw slate, as the colour will be as used when installed in a garden design water feature. It’s also great to walk back in time, as many of the UK’s prehistoric monument sites sourced their natural stone from these hills, such as Stonehenge and Pentre Ifan Burial Chamber.

On this particular visit Ioan was searching for pieces of Welsh slate to be used in our Slate Stack Pyramid garden water features. With the huge demand in the garden industry following CoVid19, all our natural stone garden ornaments like Monoliths and Window Stones have been selling like hot cakes so we needed to seek out some special pieces to replenish the catalog.

Browse our Garden Shop to discover completely bespoke garden ornaments and features, you never know you could own one of the slate pieces sourced on this Quarry Visit! It’s also worth signing up for our Mailing List to discover the latest garden product Discount Codes.
