Stone Monolith SM288 Standing Stone

Stone Monolith SM288 standing stone was chosen at a quarry in Swanage, Dorset and hand finished in our Southampton workshop. At 1metre tall, this large stone monolith is ideal as a feature stone in a large garden design, or as part of a group of stones in a larger landscaping project. This has recently been dore drilled and converted into a double window stone or hollolith. The natural rugged edges of the stone contrast beautifully with the smooth, precision-cut interiors of the circles, highlighting both the raw and crafted qualities of the material. The stone stands upright, with a pointed top that gives it an organic, almost monolithic presence. Naturally flat base for stability with both faces and edges being natural and fairly rounded. A larger window has been core drilled in the bottom half of the stone with a slightly smaller window being drilled towards the top, following the natural curve of the stone. This can be converted into a working water feature at extra cost by core drilling the bottom window. The balance between its raw, weathered exterior and its geometric, clean-lined holes makes it both rustic and contemporary at the same time. Stone Monolith SM288 standing stone is very similar in style and characteristics to the famous Sarsen Stones which feature in many ancient monuments. Including Stone Henge and Avebury Stone Circle. This can easily be combined with similar size stones to create a small Zen like retreat in your garden. Mix with other stone and slate products such as slate chippings and slate stepping stones to create a simple Japanese style garden. This would be tricky to convert into a water feature due to the pointy top.
