More Info
Slate Monolith SM315 Standing Stone was chosen at a quarry in North Wales and hand finished in our Southampton workshop. At 1.2 metres tall, this Extra Large slate monolith is ideal as a feature stone in a large Japanese garden design, or as part of a group of stones in a larger landscaping project. Sawn base provides a flat and safe stable base. Premium quality welsh slate with a very wide base measuring 650mm x 600mm makes this a heavy piece. Weighs in at 695kg so will need mechanical lifting on site. We can assist with a crane off load if required. Please review our delivery page for more info on these options. Alternatively we can quote on and organise the delivery on a hiab truck at extra cost. Slate of this size, quality and characteristics is becoming increasingly difficult to source in the quarry. Installation options include sitting on a flat concrete plinth or burying into ground and cementing in. This can easily be combined with similar size stones to create a Japanese themed garden or Zen like retreat in your garden. Combine with other slate products such as slate chippings and slate stepping stones to create a simple Japanese style garden. Please see additional product gallery images highlighting beautiful markings. Contact us now with any questions or queries you may have. This can be converted into a working water feature by core drilling through the slate. This would be at extra cost. Please contact us for a quote on this additional work. A recent case study showing a similar style used as a memorial stone. The images really don’t do this stone justice as it really is a stand out piece.
